Winter holidays in the Dolomites

Val Badia in the heart of the Dolomites enchants visitors with its natural scenic backdrops. You can hike through this area, even in winter, if you don your snowshoes. Those who prefer to ski or snowboardwill be spoilt for choice: Would you prefer a rapid or slow descent? Do you like feeling the wind in your hair or is a long skitour more your thing? If you like the thrill of the speed, you can also go sledding – kids love it! There is a ski school with a practice lift near our hotel for guests who do not know how to ski.

Cross-country skiing through the enchanting winter wonderland

There is a 60 km network of cross-country ski trails close to our hotel. They are part of the Dolomiti NordicSki, Europe’s largest cross-country ski carousel with 1,300 km of ski trails. Glide at a leisurely pace through the mesmerising surroundings, with the snow-capped summits providing a picturesque backdrop. The wildlife is somewhat subdued by the snow, so your winter holiday in the Dolomites will provide a refreshing contrast to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The high-elevation trail on the Peitlerkofel at an altitude of more than 2,000 m is a 6 km circular route just a stone’s throw from our hotel. The cross-country ski trails in San Vigilio, Corvara and San Cassiano are also easily accessible from our hotel.

Sled rides - fun for all the family

You can’t go on a winter holiday to the Dolomites and not enjoy a proper sled ride! Visitors of all ages strive for victory here. All you need for endless amounts of fun in the powdery white snow is warm clothing, gloves and a sled, which you can borrow from the hotel. The best runs require a bit of a hike first. The closest sled route starts on the Würzjoch mountain, where you can whizz down to Antermoia. It is a whopping 2.6 km in length and has all the finesse of a good downhill run.

Hotel reviews

  • Personal touch
I had the most amazing stay. The owner went out of her way to provide service above and beyond. Made breakfast at 4:30 am so I could make the start of my cycle Gran Fondo. The room was beautiful and cleaned daily and the meals were sumptuous. Staff were exceptional. I recommend this hotel.

  • “Jewel of a Hotel”
We have stayed at this family-run hotel twice while skiing over New Year's week, and both times were absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and they are able to offer family-sized, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suites that work well for us, especially with all of our skiing paraphernalia. The Prousch family and their employees work very hard to make sure their customers feel like guests. In the course of a week, you get to know other guests, many of whom return year after year, for good reason. The new bar area reminds me of staying at a lodge or retreat, with families playing games, doing puzzles and chatting in the evening hours between skiing and dinner. My daughter loved the kids' area and made new friends (German and Italian are the languages in the kids' "club"). Breakfast and dinner are consistently excellent, with new culinary experiences each trip. The view of the Dolomites from the hotel is absolutely incredible...

  • Convenient,Clean,Friendly,Value
Stayed here in January 2012 for avalanche training in mountains and skiing for fun. Convenient to ski areas and Dolomiten hiking trails. Hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean. Food is excellent, but most importantly the Prausch family makes you feel at home and have excellent hospitality. Very nice people. The area is peaceful and special. Daily shuttles to the ski areas are complimentary. I will visit them again and highly recommend this hotel for family vacation or a ski vacation.
